To be honest I expected some sort of cartoon punk bullshit but was instead hit with some thick crunching guitar and way intense vocals. While Fruity Lexia certainly has some fruity moments, suggesting a band wanting to flirt with a commercial edge, I really dig the overall vibe. Unfortunately, The Amity Affliction get desperate with crap like Love Is A Battlefield. It is, if nothing else, unconvincing. They take the commercial thing too far for their own good. Visit The Amity Affliction on Myspace if you like angry, emotional and tortured hardcore played with venom.
